How to play

Four rules. Endless “aha!”

Crossing out squares is half the fun: every ✕ narrows down where the pets can go.

  1. One per row

Every row gets exactly one pet.

  2. One per column

Every column gets exactly one pet.

  3. One per color

Every colored region gets exactly one pet.

  4. No touching

Pets can’t touch, not even diagonally.

Hints that teach

Stuck? Learn the trick, not the answer.

Every hint points at the squares that matter and explains the next deduction in plain English, from “this row only has room in purple” to clever pigeonhole and lookahead logic. Made a mistake? The hint shows you where.

Questions

Is PawPlots free?

Do I ever need to guess?

Never. Every puzzle has exactly one solution, and each one is verified to be solvable by logic alone. If you get stuck, a hint shows you the next deduction and explains why it works.

Is this like Queens, Meowdoku or Star Battle?

It’s the same family: one piece per row, column and region, with no two touching. PawPlots adds cute pets, your own pet as a piece, teaching hints and 1,000+ carefully graded puzzles, with no ads. See how it compares with LinkedIn’s Queens and Meowdoku.

Can I play without downloading anything?

Yes. Today’s puzzle is free in your browser with no account, and the same board goes to every player, here and in the apps. New to the puzzle? Try the 5×5 at the top of this page, then read the strategy guide.

Is my pet’s photo uploaded anywhere?

No. Your pet is cut out of the photo right on your phone, and the photo never leaves it.
